beach house
A total remake of an existing 1980's raised bungalow, the beach house is waterfront access and guest overflow for a larger property nearby. A large horizontal entrance, mudroom, and porch were built across the road side of the house to improve the building's proportions and curb appeal. The interior of the house was rearranged and opened up to the lake and views and existing decks were extended.
Finishes refer to modern and marine references with Ipe floors, stainless steel and glass railings and stainless columns and fittings. Simple light fixtures, standard component kitchen and bath cabinets were used alongside custom metal details and reclaimed red oak. The exterior was painted dark blue black and finished cedar screens were built over some glass areas on the road side for privacy.
